This 7-night roundtrip from Porto visits the quintas and estates behind the world’s great Port wines and Douro table wines, with guided cellar tours, winemaker lunches and expertly paired dinners — plus a day in Spain’s golden university city of Salamanca.

The Wine Experience Aboard

Wine is at the heart of every day on the Douro. Visit the Baroque Mateus Palace and its gardens for a tasting of the region’s renowned wines, savor regional fare in hilltop Castelo Rodrigo, and taste celebrated Spanish wines after touring Salamanca’s UNESCO-listed university, cathedral and Plaza Mayor.

In Pinhão, enjoy an exclusive lunch at Quinta da Avessada with live entertainment, explore its museum of Alto Douro winemaking, and taste fortified vinho do Porto at a local quinta. In Lamego, climb the nearly 700-step sanctuary stairway, then sample presunto, bôlas de Lamego and sparkling Espumante before lunch at a nearby quinta.

Back in Porto, taste Port in the historic UNESCO quarter, visit Guimarães with a tasting at the baron’s Quinta de Sezim, and end with an illuminated evening cruise.
